Compact ecosystems for smarter off-grid water Solutions.

From sustainable off-grid water systems to eco-warrior gardens, we build natural solutions that take the hassle out of being water-smart.

Our Products: The NuTree Family

What is a NuTree?

We designed the NuTree to foster an ecosystem where microbes, and plants work together to treat and recycle wastewater. Though the applications may vary--from off-grid water systems to do-it-yourself aquaponics solutions--all our products are based around our NuTree technology.

No matter the application all of our products are:

NuLeaf began as makers tinkering with biotech to create cleantech solutions. As California natives, we have seen firsthand the impact of drought and water scarcity and this greatly influenced our work. We became entrepreneurs when we realized that not enough work was being done to give everyday citizens and businesses the tools they need to be truly water-smart.  Today we build compact ecosystems that enrich the lives of regular people everywhere through water-smart resource management.

Our Mission

Empowering people to treat and recycle their own water using nature’s methods.

Our Vision

The future of water solutions is modular, all-natural, and available for all.

History

NuLeaf got our start at the NASA Ames Research Centre in Mountain View, California. In 2015 we brought them our idea of using bio-inspired design to create cleantech solutions.

We outgrew our project at NASA and in 2016 NuLeaf became a makerspace for environmentalists and biomimetics.

In 2017 NuLeaf incorporated. We later were accepted to and graduated from in the SOSV’s RebelBio business accelerator program.

Since then, we’ve built beautiful products that can effectively treat wastewater, but can also be adapted for a wide range of water-smart uses.
